Job summary

Maverick Landing Community Services (MLCS) is hiring a Community Engagement Lead for Friday Kickbacks and associated events in East Boston. This part-time seasonal role supports youth ages 6-12 and teen employees, with a focus on engaging the local community and delivering inclusive programming.

The position reports to the Youth Programs Coordinator, requires a high-school diploma, and offers a schedule Monday–Friday on-site with weekly Kickback activities, outreach, and program coordination

Qualifications

• Experience in community programming or youth services is a plus.
• Ability to engage with diverse community members and youth.

Responsibilities

• Leading weekly team huddles with community engagement teen employees and setting goals for the week.
• Working with MLCS partners, staff, and departments to amplify Kickbacks.
• Outreach and representation on behalf of MLCS youth programming and Kickbacks.
• Facilitation of Friday Kickbacks.

This is a part-time, 8-10 hour/week position.

This is a seasonal position with an end-date of December 23, 2026.

Schedule: Office hours are Monday-Friday from 11am-7pm

Compensation: $20 per hour

Maverick Landing Community Services (MLCS)is a multi-service organization in the heart of the Maverick Landing housing development in East Boston. Our mission is to build a fair community by uplifting and supporting families, promoting community health, and nurturing resident and youth leadership & creativity.We do this by offering wrap around resident services, adult education classes such as ESOL and digital literacy, robust youth and family programming, weekly food distributions, and housing advocacy and support.

Our team is looking to hire a Community Engagement Lead for our weekly Friday Kickback programming as well as to support larger program wide and neighborhood events.

This role will work to plan and facilitate weekly Friday Kickback gatherings targeted towards youth ages 6-12 years. The Community Engagement program promotes youth leadership in its teen employment opportunities. The Community Engagement Lead will support supervision of the program’s teen employees.

MLCS Kickback programming acts as an opportunity for MLCS’ youth team to create a space where community youth can come to share safe space, build proper relationships between youth attendees and teen staff, and to explore STEAM based activities amongst peers.

You will work in a team to plan and facilitate relevant kickback themes— ensuring to include cultural celebrations and important holidays. This role will focus on curating engaging kickbacks, outreach to the local community, and community celebration.

The Community Engagement Lead will report to our Youth Programs Coordinator.

Responsibilities:
