Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County in Indiana seeks an instructional and program leader to co-teach and plan curricula, supervise Education and Club Experience Specialists, and collaborate with schools and families to provide safe, engaging youth programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Youth Development, Social Work, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a youth-facing role; leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working with middle- and/or high-school age youth in classroom or out-of-school-time settings.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and youth programming platforms.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and actively participate in physical activities with youth.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Co-plan and implement educational and enrichment programming aligned with BGCNIC’s academic and social emotional framework.
• Co-teach in classroom and Club settings.
• Facilitate small and large group activities for middle/high school youth.
• Assist in data collection on youth achievement and goals.
• Plan and prepare daily lesson materials, supplies, and activity schedules.
• Prepare daily mini-lesson sessions on social emotional and study skills.
• Support small groups with independent learning plans.
• Ensure programming aligns with school and Club objectives and trauma-informed practices.
• Participate in trauma-informed classroom management and quality improvement.
• Attend team meetings and mentor new staff and volunteers.
• Assist with summer programming planning and execution.
• Oversee Leadership Center operations including attendance, timecard approvals, and roster management.
• Provide coaching and supervision to Education and Club Experience Specialists and volunteers.
• Co-Lead daily team huddles and monthly staff meetings; maintain presence during program hours.
• Cultivate relationships with families, school staff, and community partners.
• Ensure safety policies are followed; assist bus monitor duties; maintain incident documentation.
• Participate in required trainings (CPI, CPR, First Aid, etc.) and grant data collection.
