Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston seeks a Youth Sports Assistant to help deliver practices, games and events for youth participants, ensuring a quality experience for children and parents and reinforcing the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.

You will promote the five core values, help supervise safety, prep playing areas, greet and communicate with parents, support coaches, attend staff meetings and trainings, and remain flexible to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.
• Within 30 days of hire: CPR, First Aid, AED.
• Oral, auditory and written communication with children and adults.
• Desire to work with children; patient, positive and non-judgmental.
• Basic knowledge of sports.
• Flexible schedule to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Promotes YMCA values in all activities.
• Oversees safety and enforces rules.
• Prepare playing areas for safety.
• Greet and communicate with parents.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.
