Job summary

The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains is seeking a Youth Development Professional to be a positive role model, support and encourage youth, and design activities that promote their welfare. You will build lasting relationships, foster positive behavior, and contribute to social work and management skill growth; teamwork and good character are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Commitment to four days a week.
• Commitment to schedule changes for school year and summer.
• Ability to work during the school year operating hours.
• Ability to work during summer operating hours.
• Understanding and applying behavior management principles and youth training values.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all areas by enforcing rules and mentoring youth.
• Oversee daily operations of recreation areas and safety equipment.
• Organize and facilitate activities including games, fitness, arts, crafts, and music.
• Encourage participation and healthy relationships among members.
• Assess group dynamics and collaborate to create activities.
• Complete paperwork, incident reports, and evaluations as required.
• Foster leadership and teamwork among participants.
• Ensure all activities follow Club policies.
• Maintain safety and security of youth in the facility.
• Attend monthly and biweekly meetings with supervisor and team.
• Support trimester performance plan goals and daily feedback.
• Implement the 5 Key Elements for Positive Youth Development.
• Exhibit Club values: excellence, impact-driven, teamwork, good character.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
