Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader to support before/after-school and day camp programs. You will bring energy, creativity, and compassion to create a safe, fun, and enriching environment where youth feel supported and excited to learn.

You will supervise activities, lead games and projects, build partnerships with families, and ensure sign-in/out and licensing standards are met. This is a part-time role with shifts aligned to ISD calendars and summer breaks.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and able to obtain background checks
• High school diploma or GED required
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting
• CPR/First Aid/AED and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for before/after-school and day camp programs.
• Monitor activities, conduct headcounts, and follow YMCA safety policies.
• Lead age-appropriate activities and adapt to diverse needs.
• Model YMCA values including honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.
• Support daily operations to meet YMCA and licensing standards.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, school staff, and the YMCA team.
• Ensure proper sign‑in/out procedures and vigilant supervision of program areas.
