Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking Youth Development Counselors for before and after school programs. This role offers an opportunity to inspire children while creating a safe and engaging environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Six months of youth work experience in a licensed facility, school, or church.
• Maintain CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure children's safety and engagement at all times.
• Foster a welcoming environment using positive behavior techniques.
• Lead fun and enriching activities based on YMCA curriculum.
• Model and demonstrate YMCA values in every activity.
• Help maintain a clean and safe program space.
• Build strong connections with children, families, and staff.
• Follow child-protection policies and maintain supervision.
