Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader to support before/after-school and day camp programs. You’ll create a safe, fun, and enriching environment where youth feel supported, valued, and excited to learn while helping families connect with a welcoming community.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass background checks.
• You will lead activities and engage groups of youth in licensed settings.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to manage multiple tasks are essential.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for before/after-school and day camp programs.
• Monitor activities, supervise children, and ensure attendance and safety procedures are followed.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities aligned with YMCA curriculum.
• Model YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.
• Support daily program operations and maintain clean, safe spaces.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, school staff, and teammates.
• Follow child-protection policies and state licensing requirements.
