Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader to support before/after school programs and day camps in Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD. This role offers a temporary $3.00 per hour stipend in addition to base pay, and focuses on safe, engaging activities for youth.

You'll plan age-appropriate activities, supervise groups, and build positive relationships with children, families, and school staff while modeling YMCA values and participating in required trainings.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Six months of experience with youth in a licensed setting
• CPR, First Aid, AED and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities
• Experience with diverse populations
• Ability to pass background checks and fingerprinting
• TB test and required immunizations per state/local guidelines

Responsibilities

• Lead before/after school and day camp programs to create a safe, engaging environment.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities; foster learning and growth.
• Maintain safety and supervision per YMCA policies.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and school staff.
• Support daily operations and adhere to licensing standards.
• Model YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, faith.
