Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader for our before/after school and day camp programs in Houston, TX. This part-time role emphasizes a safe, engaging environment and meaningful activities for youth.

You will supervise activities, lead curriculum-based games, and strengthen relationships with children and families while upholding YMCA values and state licensing standards.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, enriching environment for before/after school and day camp programs.
• Monitor activities, conduct sign-in/out, and ensure clear supervision per YMCA policies.
• Lead activities, games, and projects aligning with the YMCA curriculum.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and partners.
• Support daily operations and maintain a clean, organized program space.
