Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader to support before/after‑school and day camp programs in the Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD areas. You’ll create a safe, engaging space, lead activities, and foster positive relationships with children and families.

This role emphasizes safety, inclusion, and positive behavior, with opportunities for growth within a mission‑driven team and flexible schedules across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment in before/after‑school and day camp programs.
• Monitor activities, conduct headcounts, and follow YMCA policies to keep children safe.
• Lead games, projects, and hands‑on learning aligned with YMCA curricula.
• Model the YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.
• Support daily operations and maintain a clean, organized program space.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, school staff, and team members.
