Job summary

Youth Development Leader at YMCA of Greater Houston is a part-time role supporting before/after school and day camp programs in the Woodlands area. You will help create a safe, engaging environment, supervise activities, and build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Responsibilities include implementing YMCA curricula, ensuring safety, and modeling YMCA values. Join a mission-driven team with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Able to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for youth in before/after school and day camp programs.
• Monitor activities and ensure safety using YMCA policies and training.
• Lead games, projects, and hands-on learning aligned with the YMCA curriculum.
• Model YMCA values (honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, faith).
• Support daily operations to keep spaces clean, organized, and compliant with standards.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, school staff, and fellow staff.
• Protect youth by following sign-in/out procedures and supervision policies.
