Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a dedicated Youth Development Director to lead and operate programs such as play center, teen leadership, day camp, and membership at the Cowart Family Ashford Dunwoody YMCA. This role emphasizes safe program delivery, community partnership development, and staff supervision.

Qualifications

• 4+ years people and/or program management experience OR a bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in child development, recreation, elementary education, or related field.
• 1+ years of supervisory responsibilities
• Ability to communicate and manage information to participants, community leaders, and volunteers and staff
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders
• Excellent attention to detail, follow-through, and execution on grant obligations.
• Proficient knowledge of computers and various technology
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and time management
• Must obtain required trainings within 30 days of hire
• Must pass fingerprint background check

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage operating plans to promote program growth, impact, and safety.
• Provide day-to-day supervision of staff/volunteers related to the overall department.
• Oversight and management of branch grant program to meet standards and budget.
• Design practices and procedures for strong youth development programs.
• Recruit and develop Afterschool Departments staff and volunteers.
• Conduct pilots for new programs and roll out best practices.
