Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica is seeking a Youth Development Professional to run after-school programs for middle schoolers, focusing on academics, healthy lifestyles, character, leadership, and career exploration. The role emphasizes mentoring, curriculum planning, and case-file management to support individual youth outcomes.

The position involves afternoon hours on weekdays with growth opportunities, ongoing training, and a commitment to safe, inclusive environments for diverse youth

Qualifications

• Eligibility includes 48 college credits or an AA/BA equivalent; CBEST requirements may apply.
• Experience with youth programs and mentoring is preferred.
• Ability to work afternoons with flexible scheduling during the school year.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise program activities, modeling effective group management, instruction, and youth engagement to ensure a safe, enriching environment.
• Assist in curriculum development and implementation of calendar schedules; support daily prep, data collection, and execution.
• Maintain accurate case files, track progress, and update youth development plans for individual members.
• Plan, promote, and lead specialized events and enrichment activities; recruit members and track engagement.
• Complete required documentation, including program evaluations, participant records, and budget tracking for supplies.
• Ensure program areas are clean, safe, and stocked; report maintenance needs and manage inventory.
• Participate in ongoing training opportunities to stay current with youth development trends and best practices.
