Job summary

Upbring in Texas is seeking a Youth Care Worker to provide direct care for Unaccompanied Children, maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment and adhering to ORR licensing standards. The role includes overnight shifts and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support daily living skills and family engagement.

The position requires 21+ age, HS diploma or GED, and bilingual English/Spanish; willingness to work 12-hour shifts and participate in training. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred in service area.
• Experience in child welfare or youth services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake services for incoming UC, including paperwork, assessments, overview of program services, and orientation.
• Provide basic needs upon arrival (meals, clothing, hygiene products, shower, bedroom assignment) and assist with daily routines.
• Supervise UC and enforce behavior limits per treatment plan and ORR standards.
• Perform crisis intervention and 1:1 monitoring to ensure safety.
• Document interactions and interventions per behavior plans and ORR standards.
• Assist UC with social skills, anger management and daily living skills.
• Accompany UC on outings, promote community inclusion and ensure safety during transport.
• Build relationships with management, staff, UC and volunteers.
• Assist in evacuations during emergencies to ensure safety.
• Attend meetings and training to meet licensing and ORR requirements.
