Job summary

YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is seeking a part-time Youth Development Counselor to supervise and engage children in Before & After School programs and Summer Day Camp in Colorado Springs, CO. The role emphasizes safety, fostering positive relationships, and collaboration with families.

You will implement age-appropriate curriculum, adhere to licensing standards, and support a welcoming, nurturing environment across programs and events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum age 18.
• Minimum of six months of full time or equivalent part time satisfactory and verifiable experience with school-age children leading group activities at a minimum of 460 hours.
• CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Oxygen, First Aid certified
• CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION training; complete required training and maintain compliance with policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, nurturing environment for children.
• Supervise and engage participants in all activities and program areas.
• Maintain strong communication with parents/caregivers and staff.
• Assist in responding to accidents and incidents and complete required forms.
• Support summer camp activities and transitions with creative engagement.
