Job summary

YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is seeking a Youth Development Counselor to supervise and engage children in Before & After Programs and Summer Day Camp, building positive relationships with youth and collaborating with parents to support each child’s growth.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, at least 6 months of experience with school-age children, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and related trainings; you will promote safety and adhere to licensing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience with school-age children, leading group activities.
• CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certification (training available upon hiring).

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, but fun environment for children.
• Supervise and engage participants during all activities and program areas.
• Adhere to program policies, health and safety regulations, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain attendance records and incident reports.
• Lead activities and provide guidance; act as a substitute at other YMCA locations.
