Job summary

The Youth Development Counselor role at the YMCA in Colorado Springs supports youth through Before & After School programs and Summer Day Camp. You will supervise groups of children, foster positive relationships with families, and promote healthy development in a structured, safe environment.

Responsibilities include supervising activities, following safety regulations, and collaborating with staff. Some extended hours may be required for trainings or events.

Qualifications

• Provides direct supervision to a group of children in Before & After Programs and Summer Day Camp.
• Requires adherence to safety policies, licensing requirements and proper conduct.
• CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid and Oxygen certification training is required or provided on hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, nurturing environment for children.
• Supervise and engage participants during all activities and program areas.
• Follow program policies, safety regulations, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, and children.
