Job summary

The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region in Fountain, CO seeks a Youth Development Counselor to support after school and summer camp programs, supervising children and building positive relationships with families. You will promote safe, engaging activities and assist in program operations.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent, are at least 18, and hold CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. This part-time role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Minimum of six months of full time or equivalent part time satisfactory and verifiable experience with school-age children leading group activities at a minimum of 460 hours.
• CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Oxygen, First Aid certified (training available upon hiring).

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, nurturing environment for children.
• Supervise and engage participants during all activities and program areas.
• Treat all children with dignity and respect; support individual differences and development.
• Adhere to program policies, health and safety regulations and emergency procedures.
• Maintain licensing standards and YMCA participant safety guidelines; manage equipment and space.
• Communicate openly with staff, parents, and children; respond to accidents and incidents.
