Job summary
Oregon Youth Authority in Tillamook, OR seeks a Group Life Coordinator 2 to support youth reformation efforts in a secure facility. You will coach and supervise youth, monitor behavior, and assist with program participation while coordinating with medical and security staff.
The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus 6 months of relevant experience or an approved behavioral science/education/criminal justice credential.
Qualifications
- Six months full-time experience observing, evaluating, and monitoring human behavior and performance.
- ACertificate or Associate degree in a behavioral science, education, criminal justice, or related field.
- High school diploma or GED required.
Responsibilities
- Coaching, confronting, and correcting youth behavior as necessary.
- Observing, evaluating, and recording youth behavior and participation in programs.
- Preparing Youth Incident Reports (YIRs) and documenting incidents.
- Assigning, training, and supervising youth in facility chores and jobs.
- Supervising youth during community-based work crews when appropriate.
- Monitoring health and safety risks, including suicide prevention.
- Conducting security inspections and searches of the facility and state vehicles.
- Administering medication under indirect supervision and coordinating with medical staff.
- Providing secure transport of youth to appointments.
