Job summary

The Oregon Youth Challenge Program, operated by the State of Oregon Military Department in Bend, seeks a Group Life Coordinator 2 to supervise and mentor youth in a structured, military-style setting. You will enforce safety, deliver life-skill coaching, and guide cadets through daily academics, PT, and character development.

Qualified candidates bring high school completion and experience in human performance or related fields, with preferred military or law enforcement exposure.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma, GED, or higher.
  • Six months of experience observing, evaluating, developing, or understanding human performance/relations.
  • Certificate/Associate degree in behavioral science, education, criminal justice, or related field.
  • Six months of prior military, law enforcement, or corrections experience.
  • Must pass a physical fitness standard and hold a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Care, control, safety and security of youth in a 24/7 facility.
  • Supervise youth with emphasis on safety, personal growth and program components.
  • Monitor and report cadet behavior during daily activities and events.
  • Assist youth in developing short- and long-term goals and life skills.
  • Lead daily physical fitness activities and run cadence.
  • Provide classroom instruction on program standards and character development.
