Job summary

Charter Steel in Cleveland, OH is offering a year-round Human Resources Intern position. This part-time role (15–20 hrs/week during the academic year, 40 hrs/week in summer) provides hands-on exposure to onboarding, HR reporting, compliance, and employee communications.

You'll gain experience across HR operations, gain mentorship, and contribute to strategic projects while supporting day-to-day activities in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a four-year degree program in Human Resources or a related field.
• Sophomore status or higher.
• GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Planning, organization, and time management abilities.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Supporting onboarding activities to create a positive employee experience.
• Maintaining accurate HR records and assisting with audits.
• Preparing reports and analyzing HR data to support business decisions.
• Managing employee communications, announcements, and HR updates.
• Providing administrative support for HR meetings, events, and programs.
