Job summary

Charter Steel in Saukville, WI is seeking a Human Resources Intern to develop HR communications, presentations, and materials while analyzing workforce data to support employee engagement, recruiting, and HR initiatives. You will collaborate with the HR team to strengthen onboarding and communications across the organization.

The program features a part-time schedule (15-20 hours/week during the academic year) and full-time in the summer, starting May 2027, and is a year‑round internship.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Human Resources Management or related field with Sophomore status or higher.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support new hire onboarding and assist with onboarding orientation.
• Prepare reports and analyze turnover, engagement, and stay/exit trends.
• Conduct bi-weekly audits for hourly performance reviews and Pay for Skills tracking.
• Assist with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding Summer Helpers.
• Create employee presentation materials and participate in weekly HR team meetings.
• Support HR projects and administrative initiatives across multiple HR functions.

Program structure

• Schedule: Part-time (15-20 hours/week) during the academic year and full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer
• Location: Saukville, WI
• Start Date: May 2027

What we're looking for
