Job summary

Charter Steel in Cleveland, OH invites enthusiastic students to join its Human Resources Internship. You will gain hands-on experience across onboarding, HR reporting, compliance, employee communications, and project coordination while supporting day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.

The program offers flexible hours (15–20 per week during the academic year and 40 hours in summer), mentorship, and opportunities to develop strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Human Resources Management or related field, with Sophomore status or higher.
• Cumulative GPA 2.75 or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support and facilitate new hire onboarding activities to create a positive employee experience.
• Maintain accurate HR records and complete audits for data integrity and compliance.
• Prepare reports and analyze HR data to support business decisions.
• Manage employee communications, announcements, and HR updates.
• Provide administrative support for HR meetings, events, and employee programs.
• Assist with various HR projects and day-to-day operations with cross-functional teams.

About the Human Resources Internship:

Gain hands‑on experience across key Human Resources functions, including, onboarding, HR reporting, compliance, employee communications, and project coordination. You'll build strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills while supporting day‑to‑day HR operations and strategic initiatives.

Program structure:

• Schedule: Part-time (15-20 hours/week) during the academic year and full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer


• Location: Cleveland, OH


• Start Date: May 2027


• Duration: Year‑round internship

What we're looking for:

• Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Human Resources Management or a related field with current status of at least a Sophomore level


• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher


• Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint


• Strong verbal and written communication skills


• Excellent customer service skills to assist employees with questions
