Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a yard switcher/loader to move trailers and handle packages in the yard and at doors. You will perform trailer switches, coordinate movements with control, and document actions using yard management tools.

The role requires light to moderate physical work, ability to lift and move packages 2–4 hours, and adherence to safety procedures in a fast-paced environment. Prior switcher or CDL experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow safety instructions.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
• Willingness to lift, push, pull, and carry packages as described.
• No formal education required; six months of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform trailer switches to move trailers between yard and doors.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management and central control.
• Document trailer moves using yard management tools.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Sort and load/unload packages using handling equipment.
• Operate conveyors and scan labels to sort packages.
