Job summary

Federal Express Corporation in Ohio seeks a yard switcher and package handler responsible for moving trailers between yards and doors, loading and unloading packages by hand, and sorting by scanning labels. You will work in a fast-paced team, perform safety checks, operate basic yard tools, and ensure accurate package flows.

Prior CDL experience is preferred but not required; valid driver's license and DOT file are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow instruction regarding work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information in order to sort packages correctly.
• Ability to operate basic yard tools and equipment including scanners and carts.

Responsibilities

• Performs trailer switches, moving trailers between yard and doors.
• Communicates with management to coordinate trailer movements in the yard.
• Documents trailer moves using the Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Loads and unloads packages onto or from delivery vehicles and carts.
• Sorts packages by scanning labels and memorizing charts.
• Works in a fast-paced team environment and follows safety procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
