Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a PT Switcher to move trailers within the yard and assist with loading/unloading packages. The role requires coordination with management, documentation of moves, and adherence to safety standards. Shifts are approximately two to four hours for package handling tasks.

No education is required, and six months of package handling or switching experience is preferred. A valid DMV license and DOT compliance are required, along with the ability to operate

Qualifications

• No education required; six months of experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow safety instructions.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yard and doors as directed.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management/central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Follow yard switching safety processes and procedures.
• Load and unload packages onto/from vehicles, trailers, conveyors, carts and gratings.
• Sort packages by scanning labels and memorizing information.
