Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a Switcher/Package Handler to move trailers in the yard, load and unload packages, and sort items for delivery in a safe, efficient manner.

Responsibilities include coordinating trailer movements with management, documenting moves, and performing inspections while adhering to safety procedures. Prior experience is preferred but not required; six months in package handling or CDL-related work is a plus. Pay ranges from $22.50 to $24.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow safety instructions.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
• Good communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yard and doors as needed.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management/central control.
• Document trailer moves using appropriate system or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Follow yard safety processes.
