Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a Yard Switcher/Package Handler to move trailers in the yard and assist with loading and sorting packages. You will operate in a fast-paced FedEx environment and be part of a team dedicated to safe, efficient package movement.

Responsibilities include trailer switches, coordinating movements, inspections, and using hand-to-surface methods to load/unload packages. Strong attention to safety and accuracy is required.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• Six months of experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator preferred.
• Must meet DOT and safety requirements.
• Ability to read labels and numbers for sorting.

Responsibilities

• Hook and move a parked trailer from yard to door or vice versa.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Load and unload packages using hand-to-surface methods and sort by conveyor.
