Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a yard switcher/package handler to move trailers, coordinate in the yard, and ensure safe handling of packages. You will perform loading/unloading tasks, document movements, and follow DOT safety rules.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to read labels, sort packages, and follow safety procedures.
• Able to lift and move packages and operate standard handling equipment.
• Six months of related experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yard and doors; switch and relocate as needed.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
• Document trailer moves in the Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Load and unload packages by hand; sort using labels and charts.
• Operate hand-held scanners and other unloading devices safely.
