Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a dependable Switcher/Package Handler to move trailers within the yard and assist in loading, unloading, and sorting packages. You will hook and move trailers to doors, coordinate with central control, and document movements using the Yard Management System.

The role requires attention to safety, the ability to follow instructions, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a Department of Transportation (DOT) file.
• Ability to understand and follow instruction regarding work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information in order to sort packages correctly.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers to and from unload/load doors or yard.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management/central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Handle packages by hand: load/unload/sort using conveyors and carts; lift/carry/push/pull.
