Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• A valid CDL and acceptable MVR if driving on public roads.
• If a CDL holder, must be registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Experience in the transportation industry is a plus.
• Stable work history and ability to operate forklift (7500 lb).
• Must lift/push/pull loads (70 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
• Night/weekend shifts may be required and pre-employment drug screen will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and maneuver tractor/trailers and other large equipment.
• Perform pre- and post-shift inspections of yard and dock equipment.
• Cube, load and unload freight using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand.
• Load freight to prevent damage with blocking, bracing, straps and dunnage.
• Set up, break down and hook trailers safely.
• Raise and lower landing gear and ensure pup trailers have tilt bars lowered before loading.
• Monitor yard for unsafe drivers and non-employees; notify management.
• Communicate with Dock supervision, Line Haul drivers and Fleet Services.
