Job summary

Estes Express Lines in Bucks County, PA is seeking a Dockworker to safely handle and maneuver tractor/trailers and other equipment in the yard, supporting loading and unloading operations.

You will perform pre/post-shift inspections, operate forklifts and pallet jacks, and ensure loads are secured and loaded to prevent damage. Strong safety awareness, ability to work outdoors in varied weather, and reliable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• CDL and acceptable MVR required if driving on public roads.
• If CDL holder, must be registered with FMCSA Clearinghouse.
• Experience in transportation is a plus.
• Stable work history.
• Ability to operate forklift (7500 lb. capacity).
• Must be able to push/pull loaded pallet jack and/or hand truck (70 lbs).
• Physical ability: standing, lifting, twisting, climbing, etc.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and maneuver tractor/trailers and other large equipment in the yard for loading/unloading.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of yard and dock equipment.
• Cube, load and unload freight using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand.
• Load freight to prevent damage by blocking, bracing, straps and dunnage.
• Set up, break down and hook trailers safely and efficiently.
• Ensure pup trailers have tilt bar lowered prior to loading freight.
• Raise and lower landing gear as needed.
• Monitor yard for unsafe drivers and non-employees; notify management.
• Work in outdoor weather conditions.
• Perform all duties of dockworker as requested.
• Communicate effectively with Dock supervision, Line Haul drivers and Fleet Services personnel.
• Maintain regular attendance.
