Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a dockworker in Sparks, NV to safely handle tractors and trailers in the yard, inspect equipment, and load/unload freight using forklifts and hand trucks. You will secure loads, set up and break down trailers, and ensure tilt bars are lowered prior to loading.

The role requires compliance with safety protocols and regular attendance in an outdoor environment. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, being 17 or older, and a CDL with a valid MVR if

High school diploma or GED or equivalent background.
Must be 17+ years of age.
CDL required and valid MVR if driving on public roads; FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse if CDL holder.
Experience in transportation a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Safely handle and maneuver tractors, trailers and equipment to load/unload in the yard.
Perform pre/post-shift inspections of yard and dock equipment.
Cube, load and unload freight using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand.
Secure freight to prevent damage using load bars, straps and bracing.
Set up, break down and hook trailers safely; ensure tilt bar lowered before loading.
Monitor yard for unsafe drivers and non-employees; notify management.
Communicate with Dock supervision, Line Haul drivers and Fleet Services personnel.
Regular attendance is required; physical demands include lifting heavy loads and working outdoors.
