Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking a dock worker to load and unload freight with forklift or manual methods, strap and pad freight to prevent damage, and accurately document freight condition on arrival. You will perform pre/post shift equipment inspections and maintain regular attendance.

The role requires ability to lift about 70 lbs, comply with safety policies, and work all shifts including overtime and weekends. Prior forklift experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Experience in transportation industry preferred.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Forklift operation experience or forklift certification preferred.
• Ability to push/pull loaded pallet jack/hand truck 70 lbs minimum.
• Physical activities include standing, walking, lifting, twisting, etc.
• Able to work all shifts, overtime and weekends; dependable.
• Able to lift ~70 lbs or more as required.
• Must comply with company policies and safety rules.
• Must interact well with others and work independently or in a team.
• Able to meet deadlines under time constraints.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check; authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand.
• Strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage or shifting.
• Record the condition of freight on arrival at the service center.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspection of dock equipment.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Other duties as assigned as needed.
