Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a dockyard/dockworker to safely handle tractors and trailers, inspect equipment, and load/unload freight in the yard. The role requires lifting up to 70 lbs, operating forklifts/pallet jacks, and working in outdoor conditions.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be at least 17, and pass drug and background checks. CDL and FMCSA drug-clearance are required if driving on public roads.

Qualifications

• Must be 17+ years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent.
• Valid CDL and acceptable MVR if driving on public roads.
• Experience in transportation a plus.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and maneuver tractors, trailers, and other equipment in the yard.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of yard and dock equipment.
• Cube, load, and unload freight using forklift, pallet jack, or hand truck.
• Load freight to prevent damage using blocking, bracing, and load bars.
• Set up, break down, and hook trailers safely.
• Ensure pup trailers have tilt bar lowered before loading.
