Job summary

RSS Mobile Trailer Repair in Columbus, OH is hiring a Yard Driver to move 53 ft. trailers within the yard and at loading docks. You will operate tractor trailers, back trailers, and place wheel chocks while maintaining safety at all times.

The role offers 2:00PM–10:30PM shifts, $24/hour starting pay with increases after 90 days and after 1 year based on performance and attendance. Benefits include 401(k) with company contribution and paid holidays/vacation.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A license required
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Criminal background check required
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Move 53 ft. semi-trailers safely within the yard and at loading docks
• Safely maneuver and back trailers into parking spots
• Enter/exit trailers repeatedly, place/remove wheel chocks, open/close doors
• Follow safety procedures and maintain awareness of surroundings
• Earn OT after 40 hours at time-and-a-half pay
• Home daily—yard-based role with no off-site loading/unloading
• Truck driving experience preferred but not required

About the Job

The Yard Driver is responsible for moving 53 ft. semi-trailers safely within the warehouse. This includes navigating tight spaces, moving trailers in and out of loading docks and parking spots. The ideal candidate would possess a high level of special awareness, be proficient in operating tractor trailers, and always prioritize safety.

• Full time work
• $24/hour starting pay depending on shift

Shifts

• Monday-Friday: 2:00PM-10:30PM.

Job Description

• Primary tasks will be basic yard tractor operations, dropping and pulling trailers in dock doors and parking them onsite.
• Safely maneuver and back semi-trailers.
• Safely enter/exit semi-trailer multiple times an hour, place and remove wheel chocks, lift and open doors.
• Follow safety procedures.
• OT after 40 hours at paid time and half.
• Home Daily-never leave the yard!
• No loading/unloading merchandise.
• Truck driving preferred but not required.
• Paid holidays and vacation.
• 401(k) with company contribution.
