Job summary

RSS Mobile Trailer Repair in Cedar Falls, IA is hiring a Yard Driver (Yard Dog/Yard Hostler) to safely move and back 53' trailers at a major distribution center. No CDL A required but you must have 53' trailer experience and be able to back into tight spots.

You will work full-time on-site with overtime after 40 hours. Starting pay is $21–$23 per hour, with pay increases after 90 days and after 1 year based on performance and attendance, plus a benefits package including medical, dental, vision,

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must have experience pulling/backing 53' semi trailers.

Responsibilities

• Safely maneuvering 53' semi trailers and backing them to/from the dock.
• Back trailers into tight spots and park them on-site.
• Enter/exit switcher truck multiple times an hour and manage safety procedures.
• Place and remove wheel chocks and Salvo locks; assist with doors as needed.

About the Job

Yard Driver (Yard Dog/Yard Hostler) is responsible for safely moving and backing semi trailers at a major distribution center. Drivers for this position remain on-site so no CDL A required, however applicants MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE driving and backing 53' semi trailers. The ideal candidate will have previous Yard Driving experience and be able to back into tight spots. A strong candidate should also be good with time management, have an eye for detail, have the ability to remain calm under pressure, be physically fit and have a safety mindset.

Job Details

• Full time work.
• $21-$23/ hour starting pay, depending on shift.
• Pay increase after 90 days and 1 year of employment (Based on performance/attendance.)
• No CDL A required but must have 53' trailer experience.

Shifts Available

• Tuesday-Friday/4P-2A
• Saturday, Sunday, Monday/6P-6A.

Skills Required

• Primary tasks include safely maneuvering 53' semi trailers: Backing and pulling trailers to/from dock doors and parking them onsite.
• Safely enter/exit switcher truck multiple times an hour.
• Place and remove wheel chocks and Salvo locks. Lift and open doors.
• No loading/unloading merchandise.
• Follow safety procedures.
