Job summary

RSS Mobile Trailer Repair is hiring a Yard Driver in Cedar Falls, IA. This role involves safely moving and backing 53' trailers at a major distribution center, with no CDL A required but proven 53' trailer experience is essential. The position is full-time with shifts Tue-Fri 4P-2A and Sat-Sun-Mon 6P-6A.

Starting pay is $21-$23/hour, with a pay increase after 90 days and after one year. Benefits include OT after 40 hours, paid holidays, vacation, and a 401(k) plan with company contribution.

Responsibilities

• Safely maneuvering 53' semi trailers: backing to dock doors and parking on-site.
• Enter/exit switcher truck multiple times per hour.
• Place/remove wheel chocks; lift and open doors; follow safety procedures.

Job description

AYard Driver (Yard Dog/Yard Hostler) is responsible for safely moving and backing semi trailers at a major distribution center. Drivers for this position remain on-site so no CDL A required, however applicants MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE driving and backing 53' semi trailers.

The ideal candidate will have previous Yard Driving experience and be able to back into tight spots. A strong candidate should also be good with time management, have an eye for detail, have the ability to remain calm under pressure, be physically fit and have a safety mindset.

• Full time work.
• $21-$23/ hour starting pay, depending on shift.
• Pay increase after 90 days and 1 year of employment (Based on performance/attendance.)
• No CDL A required but must have 53' trailer experience.

Shifts Available

• Tuesday-Friday/4P-2A
• Saturday, Sunday, Monday/6P-6A.

Skills Required

• Primary tasks include safely maneuvering 53' semi trailers: Backing and pulling trailers to/from dock doors and parking them onsite.
• Safely enter/exit switcher truck multiple times an hour.
• Place and remove wheel chocks and Salvo locks. Lift and open doors.
• No loading/unloading merchandise.
• Follow safety procedures.
• Full time work.
• OT after 40 hours, paid at time and half.
• Consistent Schedule, Home Daily-never leave the yard!

Requirements
