The Yard Attendant at Harnish Group Inc in Billings, MT supports daily yard operations, performs inspections, and assists with loading and unloading equipment for customers.

This role requires basic knowledge of heavy machinery, the ability to operate equipment safely, and attention to detail. A valid driver's license and forklift experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to start-up and safely operate all types of equipment.
• Attention to detail is important.
• A valid driver’s license is essential to operate forklift, overhead crane, wash rack, steam cleaners and other equipment.
• This is a physically demanding job that requires lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for 8 hours.
• Our customers are often under time constraints; work in a fast-paced environment is vital.
• A high school diploma with prior customer service experience is a great start.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining yard efficiency and security.
• Inspect equipment and record fuel and SMU readings.
• Load and unload equipment for customers.
• Manage rental paperwork such as transfer attachments and other related rental paperwork.

• The ability to work outside during long periods of time along with loading and unloading equipment for our customers will be essential to complete the needs of our customers.
• Managing associated rental paperwork such as transfer attachments and other related rental equipment paperwork per rental agreements is an essential function of this role.

• Our customers are often under time constraints so the ability to handle working in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment is vital to be successful.
• A high school diploma combined with previous customer service experience is a great start for this role.
• Forklift experience preferred.
