Tractor & Equipment Co. in Billings, MT is seeking a Yard Attendant to support daily yard and branch activities.

You will assist with equipment inspections, record fuel and SMU data, and help load/unload machinery for customers. The role requires basic knowledge of how our equipment functions, the ability to operate forklift and other machinery, and a strong focus on safety and efficiency during an 8-hour shift in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of how equipment functions.
• Ability to start-up and safely operate all types of equipment.
• Attention to detail is important.
• Valid driver’s license required to operate forklift, overhead crane, wash rack, steam cleaners.
• Physically demanding: lift up to 50 pounds; stand, walk and pick parts during an 8 hour shift.
• Our customers are often under time constraints; ability to work in a fast-paced environment is vital.
• A high school diploma combined with previous customer service experience is a great start for this role.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in initial inspection of equipment and record fuel/SMU data.
• Load and unload equipment for customers.
• Manage rental paperwork such as transfer attachments and related rental paperwork.
• Operate equipment safely as needed.
• Support daily yard activities and maintain security of the area.

About the Position:

The Yard Attendant is an important role at our Billings, MT location responsible for assisting in the efficiency and security of daily yard or branch activity.

• The position requires basic knowledge of heavy machinery in order to conduct initial inspection of equipment, and record information such as fuel and SMU.
• The ability to work outside during long periods of time along with loading and unloading equipment for our customers will be essential to complete the needs of our customers.
• Managing associated rental paperwork such as transfer attachments and other related rental equipment paperwork per rental agreements is an essential function of this role.

• You will have to demonstrate the ability to start-up and safely operate all types of equipment.
