Job summary

Omnicell, Inc. in Chicago, IL seeks an Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 to support XR2 automation. The role focuses on managing inventory, performing maintenance and ensuring documentation aligns with pharmacy services. On-site interaction with customers and internal teams is essential.

The position requires active PhT credentials, state license, and hospital automation experience; shift is 1st with 7 am–3:30 pm hours and travel as needed. Omnicell offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active License/Registration from the State Board of Pharmacy.
• Active National Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT): PTCB or ExCPT certifications accepted.
• Two years previous experience in hospital pharmacy automation.
• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
• Basic Troubleshooting Skills with automation devices.

Responsibilities

• Operate Omnicell automation at customer sites according to Omnicell SOPs and best practices.
• Perform return and restocking duties to optimize the customer’s use of automation.
• Monitor formulary inventory levels to ensure availability of medications for daily dispensing.
• Responsible for prescribed maintenance of automation products and reporting unresolved issues to TAC.
• Perform daily and periodic cleaning of the equipment according to best practices.
• Inspect robot cell daily for issues, wear, and functionality; report concerns.
• Maintain clear communication with pharmacy operations manager and customer for proactive issue resolution.
• Conduct training and ensure completion of required documents and compliance with procedures.
