Job summary

Nikon Metrology is seeking an experienced X-ray Field Service Technician to install, maintain, repair and upgrade Nikon Metrology X-ray products across North America. The role involves extensive travel (80%+) with occasional international trips, and requires handling ITAR-controlled material.

You will troubleshoot, test, and service complex systems, providing on-site and remote support, and maintaining documentation per SOPs. Strong technical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have access to ITAR-controlled information and materials.
• Ability to travel 80%+ domestically with possible international travel.
• 2+ years’ experience in a technical role or >4 years’ experience in a technical role.
• Experience on complex capital equipment with subsystems such as vacuum, manipulators, High Voltage systems, general mechanical, and PCs.
• Must identify and fix issues down to a board level.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Overtime eligibility with FLSA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot system failures/errors and perform corrective actions.
• Perform product maintenance and software training as necessary.
• Provide technical product services for Nikon Metrology X-ray products following SOPs.
• In-house testing and repairs of spare parts and systems.
• Support equipment at customer location or via telephone/email.
• Submit timesheets, expense reports and service documentation promptly.
