Job summary

HDR is seeking a WTEM Business Class Director to drive strategy and technical leadership across wastewater treatment and effluent management. You will coordinate with market sectors, operations and leadership to align client needs with risk-management, quality assurance and program delivery.

The role includes mentoring technical leaders and guiding research activities. The position requires guiding complex, multi-discipline projects, developing strategic plans, and representing HDR in industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in related field.
• Registration as a professional engineer/architect for leadership roles with technical design.
• Proven ability to develop and manage diverse teams.
• Collaborative with directors, managers and marketing on cross-functional efforts.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Build relationships across business classes, market sectors and operations.
• Lead and participate in technical risk management and claims prevention.
• Drive quality assurance and coordinate with Quality Manager.
• Oversee development of tools, standards, and techniques to enhance service quality.
• Assign qualified staff to projects and optimize worksharing.
• Develop strategic plans with market sector directors and leadership.
• Lead research engagement to advance WTEM capabilities and standards.
• Maintain relationships with universities for workforce development and recruiting.
• Facilitate cross-office teamwork and monitoring of project performance.
• Coordinate strategic hires within the business group.
• Support client development and project pursuits; engage in industry organizations.
