Job summary

HDR is a global leader in water resource solutions, looking for a WTEM Business Class Director to guide technical capabilities and client engagements across wastewater treatment and effluent management. You will mentor leaders, drive strategic plans with market sector directors, and foster applied research collaborations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in related field.
• For Business Class leadership roles the core service being overseen is technical design and the role must maintain a professional or Architecture/Engineering registration with related technical experience.
• Experience developing and managing diverse teams.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other HDR directors, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts.
• Commitment to HDR values and quality improvements.
• Active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Build close working relationships with related business classes, market sectors, and operations.
• Lead technical risk management through process and resource reviews.
• Drive quality assurance and control processes and coordinate with the Quality Manager.
• Oversee development and application of technical tools, standards, and techniques.
• Assign qualified staff to projects and manage staffing resources.
• Develop strategic plans with market sector directors and provide input to leadership at multiple levels.
• Lead applied research initiatives to advance WTEM capabilities and translate outcomes into practice.
• Foster relationships with university programs to support workforce development.
