Northampton Community College in Bethlehem is seeking a Writing Tutor for the Learning Center (Bethlehem or Online). This part-time role supports student success by providing personalized instruction to strengthen course comprehension, study strategies, critical thinking, and academic skills.
Tutors may meet individually or in small groups on campus or online. Training through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) is provided and certification is expected within one year.

Part-time (approx. 10 to 25 hours per week). Tutors support student success by utilizing a personalized approach to help each student gain a deeper understanding of course material, devise effective learning strategies, engage in critical thinking, and acquire additional academic skills in order to help the student reach educational goals. Tutors may meet with students on an individual or small group basis on campus and/or online. Tutors are provided with College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) training and are expected to obtain certification within one year of employment. Tutors are also expected to participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development activities, promptly respond to correspondence from Learning Center staff, and maintain complete and accurate records. Additional responsibilities may be assigned.
The number of positions hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department and the College.
