Job summary

Lindenwood University seeks a Writing Specialist to support students and instructors through writing activities, consultations, and embedded LMS assistance. The role collaborates with instructors to develop writing assignments and provides in-person and virtual support in the Writing Center.

The position emphasizes professional development, mentoring of writing staff, and delivering quality feedback to diverse student populations within a flexible, service-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Master’s degree in English or related field preferred.
• Experience tutoring or teaching or writing center work.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and cultures.

Responsibilities

• Provide feedback on student writing via in-person, video, or email.
• Offer intensive in-class writing support to students.
• Develop training materials and resources for writing instructors.
• Mentor and train writing specialists and consultants.
• Conduct writing conferences with students and collaborate with faculty.
• Embed within LMS to support graduate and undergraduate students and instructors.
