Job summary

The Lindenwood University Writing Center seeks a part-time Writing Specialist to support students and instructors through classroom activities, consultations, and online feedback.

You will collaborate with instructors to develop writing assignments, provide in-person and virtual support, and contribute to the development of training materials for writing staff, while maintaining flexible schedules for non-traditional students.

Qualifications

  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; tutoring or teaching experience preferred.
  • Master’s degree in English or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides feedback on students’ writing in person, via video chat, or email.
  • Offers intensive in-class writing support.
  • Develops training materials and resources for writing instructors.
  • Trains and mentors writing specialists and consultants.
  • Supports students with development strategies and accommodations.
  • Consults with faculty to identify curricular enhancements.
  • Conducts writing conferences and stays current on best practices.
  • Reviews and edits instructors’ scholarly articles.
  • Embeds in LMS to support students and instructors as requested.
