Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's degree in English, Composition and Rhetoric, Education, Literacy Studies, Higher Education, or related field.
• Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, or supporting students in writing and/or literacy development.
• Strong communication with students, faculty, and staff.
• Excellent organizational, project management, and data management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a student-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the Writing Center and oversee daily operations, in-person and virtual.
• Recruit, hire, supervise, train, and evaluate student tutors and graduate assistants.
• Develop tutor training programs and ongoing professional development.
• Collect, analyze, and report utilization data, learning outcomes, and program effectiveness.
• Maintain Writing Center resources, instructional materials, website content, and promotional materials.
• Offer individual consultations for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students across the writing process.
• Collaborate with faculty to integrate writing support into coursework.
• Embed Writing Center services into courses via workshops and classroom visits.
• Develop and facilitate workshops on writing, reading, and academic literacy; coordinate events.
