Job summary

Medical Suites at Oak Creek in Oak Creek, Wisconsin is seeking a compassionate RN with wound care expertise to join our skilled nursing team.

In this full-time role, you will assess and treat acute and chronic wounds, develop care plans with the team, educate patients and families, and collaborate with physicians, therapists, and dietitians to promote healing and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Must hold Wisconsin RN license.
  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience; at least 1 year in wound care.
  • Certification in Wound Care (WCC/CWCN or equivalent) required.
  • Strong knowledge of wound care products, dressing materials, and advanced wound healing techniques.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, monitor, and treat patients with acute and chronic wounds, including pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds, and other complex skin conditions.
  • Develop individualized wound care plans, in collaboration with the healthcare team, and implement evidence-based treatment protocols.
  • Perform wound assessments, dressing changes, debridement, and other procedures as necessary.
  • Educate patients and their families on proper wound care and prevention strategies.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, keeping the team informed of any changes or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Stay updated on current wound care practices, techniques, and equipment.

Job Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of Wisconsin
