Job summary

Medical Suites at Oak Creek in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, is seeking a compassionate RN with wound care expertise to join our skilled nursing team.

You will assess and treat acute and chronic wounds, develop care plans, perform dressing changes, educate families, and collaborate with physicians, therapists, and nutritionists to promote healing.

Candidates must have a WI RN license, WCC/CWCN certification, and at least 2 years of nursing experience including wound care.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience with at least 1 year in wound care
• Certification in Wound Care (WCC, CWCN, or equivalent) required
• Strong knowledge of wound care products, dressing materials, and advanced wound healing techniques
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and treat patients with acute and chronic wounds (pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds, and other complex skin conditions)
• Develop individualized wound care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and implement evidence-based treatment protocols
• Perform wound assessments, dressing changes, debridement, and other necessary procedures
• Educate patients and families on proper wound care and prevention strategies
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed, keeping the team informed of changes or concerns
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress in compliance with regulatory standards
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
• Stay updated on current wound care practices, techniques, and equipment
